Huperzine-A
Huperzine A is an alkaloid isolated from the club moss Huperzia serrata which has been widely used for centuries in traditional Asiatic medicine to treat many central disorders including cognitive dysfunction and dementia. It increases levels of acetylcholine in the brain by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase activity and may consequently improve cognitive function in patients with dementia and possibly have neuroprotective and antioxidant properties.
